Missouri and Texas Players Share $1.787 Billion Powerball Jackpot

September 7, 2025

Two lucky Powerball® tickets—one sold in Missouri and the other in Texas—matched all six numbers in the Saturday, September 6 drawing, splitting a massive $1.787 billion jackpot.

The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, 62, and the red Powerball 17. The Power Play® multiplier was 2.

This $1.787 billion prize marks the second-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, behind only the record-setting $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California on November 7, 2022.

“Congratulations to our newest Powerball jackpot winners and the Missouri Lottery and Texas Lottery for selling the winning tickets,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO. “Every $2 ticket not only gave players a shot at the prize but also supported essential public programs in their communities. That’s something to celebrate!”

Prize Options for the Winners

Each winning ticket holder can choose between:

  • Annuity: $893.5 million, paid over 30 years with annual payments increasing by 5%, or

  • Lump Sum: $410.3 million, paid immediately.

Both options are before taxes.

Other Winning Tickets

  • 18 tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million each. These tickets were sold in California (2), Colorado, Florida, Illinois (2), Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York (2), Ohio (2), Oregon, Texas (2), and West Virginia.

  • 2 tickets (Kansas, Texas) included the Power Play® option, doubling their winnings to $2 million each.

  • 232 tickets won $50,000 prizes, while 90 tickets claimed $100,000 prizes with the Power Play® multiplier.

In addition, the Double Play® drawing produced two winners in Florida and Maine, each claiming $500,000 after matching all five black balls.

Record-Breaking Jackpot Run

This was the 42nd drawing since the jackpot was last won on May 31, 2025, in California—making it the longest run in Powerball history.

The jackpot now resets to $20 million for Monday night’s drawing, with the 10X Power Play® multiplier available since the advertised jackpot is below $150 million.
